Chad Rainey, PT, PRC is the owner and a practicing physical therapist at Vermont Physical Therapy. A native Vermonter, Chad graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Vermont in 2000. Since graduating from UVM, Chad has practiced PT in many different facilities both in and out of Vermont, including inpatient hospital care and outpatient rehabilitation. This has given Chad a wide variety of learning opportunities and skills to offer his patients.

Chad prides himself on quality one-on-one patient care, focused on the whole body. Treatment plans are designed on a case-by-case basis with emphasis on the individual presentation of the patient. Chad does not believe in one-size fits all approach to physical therapy and rehabilitation. Every body is different and every patient has different needs and goals to improve their quality of life and physical health.

In 2013 Chad became certified in Postural Restoration. In Chad’s opinion, Postural Restoration is the foundation for providing the best care possible for his patients. Postural Restoration helps patients address the root cause of their problems. Chad combines Postural Restoration with other techniques that include aquatic therapy, custom orthotic fittings, and extensive approaches to core stabilization. Manual therapy techniques include, but are not limited to, soft-tissue mobilization, massage, joint mobilizations and manipulations, manual rib cage adjustments, and manual cranial techniques.

Chad also has extensive experience in treating patients with TMJ, cervical injuries, headaches, and assisting patients with lifestyle changes like nutrition. Chad’s personal interests include running, yoga, strength training, hiking, and chasing after his young daughter.
